PROFILE

 

Amber Hyun Jung Kim is a freelance Korean-English conference interpreter and translator based in Seoul, Korea. She earned her B.A. in political science at Seoul National University and graduated from the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Graduate School for Interpretation and Translation with a degree in conference interpretation.
Amber has interpreted in over 1,500 international conferences and meetings for both public and private sector clients in subject areas ranging from policy, legal action, business and finance, IT, energy, trade, and others.
For nearly 20 years, Amber has been translating fiction and literary works; she has received the 2014 Korea Times Modern Literature Translation Award Commendation Prize in Fiction as well as multiple Literature Translation Institute of Korea grants. Amber is a regularly contributing translator for institutions such as LTI Korea and the Publication Industry Promotion Agency of Korea. She continues to pursue her twin passions of conference interpreting and literary translation.
