South Korea the Guest of Honor at the
2022 Bogota International Book Fair (FILBO)

Celebrating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Korea and Colombia, Korea will be participating in the 2022 Bogota International Book Fair (FILBO) held from April 19 (Tue.) to May 2 (Mon.) as the guest of honor. The Publication Industry Promotion Agency of Korea (KPIPA) will be introducing outstanding picture books of Korea through exhibitions at the fair.

 

Introduction of the Picture Book Exhibition

Exhibition theme: The Harmonious Voices
-
In line with the topic of the guest of honor (Korea) “Coexistence,” we took “voices” as the keyword for the picture book exhibition, filling the exhibition with various voices in daily life such as children, animals, plants, and things.

Under the topic of “The Harmonious Voices,” visitors can meet 100 titles of Korean picture books classified into 5 sub-topics.

At the special exhibition, 15 picture books introducing Hanguel (Korean alphabet), 25 picture books translated into Spanish, the local language of Colombia, and 10 titles of author Baek Hee-Na will be exhibited.

At the guest of honor hall, 4 Korean picture book authors – Kim Hyo-Eun, Park Yeon-Cheol, Lee Su-Ji, and Jung Jin-Ho – will be joining the visitors. Visitors can meet a total of 20 picture books at the exhibition of invited authors, 5 titles of each author’s books.

On top of the picture book exhibitions, visitors can enjoy other various programs as well, including book talks with authors, seminars, and experience programs, joined by the invited authors.

We are preparing other entertaining programs on top of the above activities. Also, there will be export experts full-time during the exhibition for consultations on copyright export of exhibited books.
We will continue to make every endeavor to globalize K-books, participate in international book fairs, and increase copyright sales and exchanges.
