Before the South Korean government's declaration of democracy and the authorization of independent establishment of publishing companies in 1987, the military-dominated government oppressed publishers and announced many publication regulations. Mi-kyoung Song debuted as a fairy tale author in 2008 in South Korea and has since received numerous awards since.
